How Hypnosis Works

Contrary to some beliefs, Hypnosis is not a form of “mind control” in fact it is EVERYTHING opposite of that.

Hypnosis is a “highly focused” state of mind where you are fully aware of everything that is going on around you.  Yes, you will hear EVERY word and you will have the option to either reject or fully accept the suggestion that is being offered to you.

Hypnosis is not a state of sleep.  In fact when you get right to it, all hypnosis is really a form of self-hypnosis.  The role of the hypnotist is to help guide you through the process.

The average session can last from 30 to 60 minutes and most clients say that once they leave the hypnotic state that they feel more relaxed than they have in many years.

It is important to remember that over 85% of the things you do each and every day are being controlled by unconscious thoughts.  In other words, your subconscious takes care of most of the things that you never think about.

Included in the list of things your subconscious controls are many of the bad “habits” that you have come to form.  These habits can range from things like smoking, over eating and responses to stressful situations.

The hypnosis sessions are set up to help you go and change your “automatic” responses to situations that may be causing you to overeat, smoke or feel stressed.

Why Hypnosis Works

Hypnosis works by having the ability to talk directly to the subconscious part of your mind.  The hypnotist will be able to provide suggestions (which you will always be able to accept or reject) to your subconscious on ways to change a current behavior.

For example, let’s say you are a smoker and you tend to smoke the most when you find yourself in a stressful situation.  The hypnotist may introduce a situation for you to consider that will either eliminate that “habit” or offer an alternative other than a cigarette.

The good news is that your subconscious does not pass judgment on the suggestion.  Once you decide to accept the suggestion then they change WILL be made in your subconscious.
